Christine Scippa Bhasin is an adjunct assistant professor of history and theatre at the College of William & Mary where she teaches courses in theatre history, Renaissance history, and women's and gender studies. Her research on early modern Venetian convent theatre has been supported by fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. Her article entitled "Prostitutes, Nuns, Actresses: Breaking the Convent Wall in 17th-century Venice" will be published in Theatre Journal this March.
