Professor Afsaruddin received her Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Her fields of specialization include religious and political thought of Islam, Qu'ramic hermeneutics, hadith criticism, exegetical, legal and ethical perspectives on jihad and martyrdom, Muslim attitudes toward the People of the Book, Islam and religious pluralism, and gender relations. |
