Gazeta Submission Deadline

Event Details
Date: February 15, 2012
Location:
Summary:

The deadline for this semester's first issue of Gazeta is coming up! The theme for this issue is "Political Russia."

Full Description:

All articles must be submitted to pjprather@email.wm.edu no later than MIDNIGHT, on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15th. All articles should be submitted in the form of a word document attached to the email; the word document should include your name, a title for your article, the article itself, and a corresponding picture. Gazeta accepts articles pertaining to Russian language, history, and culture in both English and Russian, but please note that if you are required to submit an article for a 200- or 300-level class, it must be IN RUSSIAN and around 250 words.

The theme for this issue is "Political Russia." Some ideas for article topics include: the recent anti-Putin protests, the upcoming election in March, or a politically significant event in Russia's past that interests you. While themes are meant to tie issues of Gazeta into more cohesive units, articles will not be rejected solely because they do not fit neatly into the theme. (For instance, articles pertaining to upcoming holidays- such as Maslenitsa! - will certainly be welcomed.) However, the Gazeta staff does reserve the right to reject articles based on poor grammar, insufficient length, or a topic that isn't clearly related to Russian culture or the RPSS program.
