William & Mary will mark its fifty-year anniversary of the first African American students in residence with a year-long series of events beginning June, 2017, and continuing through May, 2018.

The Center for Student Diversity Presents Lecture Series: April Ryan. White House Correspondent April Ryan has a unique vantage point as the only black female reporter covering urban issues from the White House.
Join the W&M School of Education for a community forum on justice, equity and activism in the educational community. Faculty members will join community leaders in a panel-style discussion.
Award winning journalist, Soledad O'Brien will present Diversity: On TV, Behind the Scenes, and in Our Lives on November 14, 2017 in the Commonwealth Auditorium for the 2017 Hunter B. Andrews Distinguished Fellowship in American Politics Lecture.
Dr. Michael Blakey will examine the social history of theories that connect biology, "nature," social inequality, and behavior, specifically pertaining to African American culture, in conjunction with our Building on the Legacy exhibition.
In the second talk of the School of Education's 2017-2018 Diversity Lecture Series, Cirecie West-Olatunji will present "Revisiting the Promise of Multiculturalism in Education."
