VIMS' flagship research vessel, the R/V Virginia

VIMS invites you to take a tour of our new flagship research vessel, the 93-foot R/V Virginia. The Virginia is the most modern, most capable research vessel in its size class anywhere in the U.S. Tour participants will visit the working laboratories on board the vessel, view the living quarters, and learn about the high-tech research and navigational equipment that will allow VIMS to conduct innovative research in the Chesapeake Bay and along the Atlantic Coast. These tours are free, open to the public (ages 10 and above welcome), and will last approximately 25 minutes.  

Registration is required. Space on each tour is limited. You may register yourself and up to four guests (ages 10 and above). If you have more than five people total in your group, contact VIMS Outreach (contact information below) to make arrangements.
