April 11, 2015
8pm - 9pm
Location
Bruton Parish Church
The W&M Early Music Ensemble gives its final concert under founding director Professor Ruth van Baak Griffioen. Students singing and playing recorder, traverso, violin, gamba, and harpsichord perform music by Bach, Biber, Graupner, Hotteterre, and from "The Bird-Fancyer's Delight"; also featuring the first suite for viola da gamba ever composed in America, from the Tarpley MS. Most of the music dates from on or near 1715, in honor of the 300th anniversary of Bruton Parish Church.
