Poetry recitation is a long-celebrated past-time in Chinese culture. In ancient times, nobles would take turns reciting poems or composing their own at parties. Today, memorizing poetry by the master poets of the Tang Dynasty or other illustrious classics is still considered a sign of one's education and intelligence. This semester, the Chinese Studies Program and the William & Mary Confucius Institute are bringing this esteemed tradition to our own hallowed halls. We invite you to Washington Hall room 317 on April 9th at 4 pm to hear talented students of the Chinese Studies Program prove their skill by partaking in this ancient art. Participating students may provide their own music, accompanying slideshow, or other props. Pizza and refreshments will be provided!
