Industry Experimental Design: Pharmaceutical Perspective

While we initially learn to design experiments by changing one factor at a time, the costs and time constraints in an industrial setting reward the use of statistically designed experiments which are able to explore multiple factors in an efficient number of experiments. Using the Pharmaceutical Industry as an example, this talk provides an introduction to statistically designed experiments which can broadly be applied to scientific experimentation.

Geoffrey Hird, '96 BS in Chemistry, Ph.D. Chemistry Duke University:  With 20+ years of pharmaceutical industry product development experience, Dr. Hird knows his stuff. He is currently the VP of Pharmaceutics and CMC at Glycomine. His interests include employing drug delivery technologies to solve formulation and process development challenges as well as statistical design and analysis of experiments. He has Duke Univ. Ph.D. and is an Adjunct Prof at UNC-CH Eschelman School of Pharmacy.
