SPEAKER: Jane Hunter, Ph.D
Visiting Scholar in Educational Technology
Researcher, Center for Educational Research, Western Sydney University
Faculty Member, School of Education, Western Sydney University
Jane is a researcher at the Centre for Educational Research at Western Sydney University (WSU) in New South Wales, Australia. She also teaches in pre-service graduate teacher education programs in WSU's School of Education. Her professional background is in pedagogy, technology-enhanced learning, teacher professional learning, and Social Studies curriculum, specializing in geography, history, civics and citizenship. Previous to her work at WSU, Jane taught in K-12 schools and in the teacher education program at the University of Sydney. Her most recent appointment was as a senior policy officer for several large-scale educational technology projects in the largest educational organization in Australia.
Jane's new book, Technology Integration and High Possibility Classrooms: Building from TPACK, was published by Routledge in March 2015. When home in Australia, she works alongside teachers in schools each week, and presents her research regularly at education conferences both nationally and internationally.
This lecture will describe the research presented in Jane's recent book, and will make a case for the framework she developed to be utilized to create high possibility schools internationally. All are welcome!
