October 26 is Intersex Awareness Day! Come the day after and learn from Intersex activist Marissa Adams about the Intersex population! Intersex people are born with sex characteristics outside traditional conceptions of male and female. A short informational presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. Marissa Adams is an intersex woman and advocate for intersex rights. She was a youth advocate at interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth for 7 years and is currently a staff member at InterConnect Support Group (formerly AIS-DSD Support Group), the largest support group for intersex people and families in North America.
