[PAST EVENT] Pointe Blank Dance Company Auditions

Pointe Blank is a completely student run dance organization, meaning our organization and choreography is all done through student work and creativity. We perform various styles of dance including jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, and more! Pointe Blank's Fall 2022 auditions will be held Saturday September 3rd, 2022 at 11am in Chesapeake A (located on the third floor of the Sadler Center). You do not need to have anything prepared, but please try to arrive 15-20 minutes early so we can get started right at 11:00 am.

The main audition will consist of 3 sections:

  • Brief stretching and technique/turns work in the center,
  • Leaps and jumps across the floor,
  • and learning/performing a short jazz style audition piece!

Main auditions should last around an hour to an hour and a half. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear you can dance in, I would also recommend bringing water as well. *If you do tap or pointe, bring your shoes because we have optional mini-auditions (about 15 minutes) for tap and pointe following the main audition. (Tap and pointe are not required for joining the company.)*
