Join VIMS at the 41st Annual Crab Carnival on Saturday, October 7th in downtown West Point, where we will be sharing information on our decades of research on blue crabs in the Bay - with specimens, live crabs, information, microscopes, and more!
Join us for the second ARII workshop of the semester! Attendees will brainstorm and refine ideas for projects to be funded by ARII. Advice will be provided on how to apply for ARII and potential other funding sources.
Join us for the final ARII workshop to be held this semester! John Meck, Executive Director W&M Corporate & Foundation Relations, will be presenting on corporate funding.
Join us at the Copper Fox Distillery in Williamsburg as Director of VIMS' Eastern Shore Lab weaves together elements of the history of shellfish into compelling stories celebrating the importance of shellfish along the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Join VIMS and Shored Up VA for a SHELL of a good time as we celebrate all things oysters and the Bay! The event features exhibits (including a VIMS oyster research-focused exhibit), as well as oyster-based stews, Virginia-sourced brews, and live music!
The Virginia Beer Company will be our host as three VIMS graduate students give 5-minute fast-talks and present posters on the important research they are conducting. This event is free, open to the public, and registration is not required!
VIMS and ODU reunite to host the 2024 Blue Crab Bowl, the regional competition of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, in which high school students compete to answer questions from scientific and technical ocean science disciplines.
