“Health Law and Policy Society presents Michaela Lieberman J.D., who works in a medical-legal partnership helping treat illnesses.

How?

Doctors can give asthmatics an inhaler or persons with high blood pressure some medication, but then the asthmatic goes back to a moldy living situation and the patient with high-blood pressure goes back to a stressful discriminatory work environment.

Lawyers providing solutions in anything from constitutional, employment, and civil law issues can help treat the whole person. Michaela will speak of her experiences with clients and a research partnership with the National Institute of Health tracking patterns of health outcomes with legal solutions.

As a former W&M Law student, Ms. Lieberman hopes to open a dialogue about general policy matters on healthcare, the relationship between legal issues and health outcomes, and general advice on how to succeed at W&M.
