Lauren Tierney: Graphics Editor with The Washington Post

Lauren Tierney is a Graphics Editor at The Washington Post, managing mapping, weather, and natural disaster coverage for the Post graphics team. Lauren started at the Post in 2017, and was previously a Graphics Editor at National Geographic Magazine. She has her Masters in Geography from the University of Oregon, and is an alum of the InfoGraphics Lab. Her guest lecture will discuss how journalists on the Post’s graphics team visualize the news with maps, graphics, and other data visualizations. She will also discuss her journey from geography to journalism, and how a background in geography and cartography informs her work at the Post.
