Want an opportunity to practice and demonstrate your Chinese skills? Want to compete with your fellow classmates? Sign-up for the Chinese Language Competition Friday, April 5, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. in Tyler Hall 102! All students are invited to participate. We will have four categories--levels 100, 200, 300 and 400. Level 100, 200 and 300 students are invited to do an individual or team presentation, or select a work of Chinese poetry to recite. Level 400 students will participate in a debate (the topic has still not been selected). 400-level students also have the option to recite a work of Chinese poetry. Students have the chance to win a variety of awards and each level will have a first place, second place and third place winner. All performances will be scored by a panel of judges. After the awards ceremony, there will be a reception starting at 6:30 p.m. with food from Peter Changs.

We really encourage all students to participate and/or come to watch your classmates and friends. Not only is this an excellent chance to show off your Chinese skills, but it is also an important step in learning Chinese. If you would like to sign up please email [[e|dcchapman, Dereck Chapman]]. Level 100, 200 and 300 students please include your topic or Chinese poem selection. Level 400 students, please email me your desire to participate and you will be informed of the debate topic shortly. If you want to recite a Chinese poem, please let me know of your selection.
