The W&M Public Discourse Initiative, Federalist Society, and American Constitution Society are proud to present "A Second Amendment Debate." You are cordially invited to Room 119 during the lunch hour of Thursday, Nov. 8, as we host two distinguished legal speakers: FedSoc will be represented by Alan Gura, who argued the landmark 2008 D.C. v. Heller case at the Supreme Court, and ACS will welcome Andy Goddard, the Legislative Director at the Virginia Center for Public Safety. The two will discuss and debate the past, present, and future of Second Amendment jurisprudence. Moderated by Professor Zick and the three organizations ourselves, the event will pay particular attention to how the law should take shape moving forward, given the high stakes and passionate interest involved. We will, of course, leave plenty of time for student engagement and questions. Chipotle will be provided as well.
