Join us to celebrate the installation of the exhibit, "The Asian Centennial at William & Mary: Pu Kao Chen 1923" created by Sumie Yotsukura '22 and assisted by Brian Zhao '23.

The exhibit will be on display in Swem's entrance gallery from October 7, 2021 to December 31, 2021. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 from 4-5 p.m. in the Swem lobby. Refreshments served. Free and open to all!

This exhibit explores P. K. Chen, W&M's first Asian student and student of color so far on record, and his experiences in the US as chronicled in his own account, A CHINESE STUDENT'S FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF AMERICA, published in the William & Mary Literary Magazine in 1923. Join us as we follow Chen through his own words.
