The Biennial Southeastern Virginia Postdoctoral Symposium will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, in Watermen's Hall at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) in Gloucester Point, Virginia. This event will showcase the research from postdoctoral scholars in the tidewater region. In addition, our Symposium will provide career building and networking opportunities with speakers and panelists from academic, private, and government institutions.

Keynote speakers include Kendall Powell, freelance science writer and editor, and Dr. Rick Murray, Division Director, Ocean Sciences, at the National Science Foundation. Panelists include Dr. Erin Burge, Coastal Carolina University, Dr. Pete De Lisle, Technical Director and President of Coastal Bioanalysts, Inc., and Dr. Mark Siddall, Curator of the Annelida and Mollusca Collections at the American Museum of Natural History. Remarks will be given by VIMS Associate Dean of Research Dr. Mark Luckenbach, and VIMS Postdoc Program Coordinator Dr. Andrew Wargo.
