Lecture by Roberto Dainotto, Professor of Italian Studies, Duke University
Focusing on Marco Tullio Giordana?s film The Hundred Steps, and drawing from Leon Trotsky?s and Antonio Gramsci?s reflections on ?daily life,? the presentation looks at historical attempts to imagine gangster cinema, against Hollywood?s mythologies, as the epics of the contrast between routine existence and change.
