On Sunday, September 15, 1963, a bomb exploded at the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four little girls: Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Wesley. This deadly explosion marked a turning point in the American Civil Rights Movement.
