S.O.M.O.S. and M.A.N.O.S. (sister organizations) are searching for committed freshmen and sophomores of all majors interested in taking part in a long-term, research-based community development and health partnership in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, respectively. Both projects involve a biweekly academic seminar, a week-long trip, and additional research opportunities over other school breaks.

Students seeking experience that involves systematic social science research, technological skills such as GIS and GPS, statistical analysis software and web-design, information management and interdisciplinary work in fields ranging from environmental science to public health are highly encouraged to apply. Spanish language proficiency is highly regarded though not required.

Students interested in learning more about the project and the application are encouraged to attend a joint interest meeting on Wednesday, September 18th, 8pm in Washington 301 or Thursday, September 19th, 6pm in Tyler 336.
