"Disenfranchisement, Due Process, and Freedom of Speech": a talk with attorney David Baugh. Tuesday, October 28th at 1:00 PM, W&M School of Law, room 127.
The son of a Tuskegee Airman, David Baugh is a criminal trial lawyer in Richmond, Virginia. As a defense attorney, he has represented Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon Barry Elton Black (for which the American Bar Association named him a "Human Rights Hero"), and U.S. Embassy bomber Mohammad al-Owhali. Baugh served as an Assistant United States Attorney in both Texas and Virginia, and more recently as a Capital Defender for Central Virginia representing indigent clients facing the death penalty. He has been president of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Richmond Criminal Bar Association, and is a former ACLU of Virginia board member. In 2006 David Baugh received the Virginia State Bar's prestigious Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Pro Bono Award.
