Essential First-Year Initiatives, or Essential FYIs, are a grouping of four programs considered to be critical in the holistic development of W&M students as each topic supports a key element found within our community.

These sessions are not only supplemental to New Student Orientation, but also encourage students to ask questions and explore what it means to be One Tribe, One Family in our daily lives. Each freshman RA has registered his/her community for a session addressing these four topics of Community Values, Authentic Excellence, Tribe Unity, and Healthy Relationships over these four weeks. Please make sure that you add these dates and times to your calendar.

If students are unable to make the session time their RA has selected for their community to attend due to an academic responsibility or other commitment, it is each student's responsibility to select an Alternate Session.   Alternate Session sign-ups are accessible via the First Year Experience at W&M TribeLink Events Page.
