The English Department/Creative Writing Program offers three annual $3,000 scholarships: one in Fiction, one in Creative Nonfiction, and one in Poetry.

These scholarships are open to all current and rising Juniors who have taken a minimum of two upper-level Creative Writing Classes (300-400). There is no GPA requirement. Applicants may apply for a scholarship in more than one category.

Applicants must submit a transcript showing Creative Writing classes taken (or currently enrolled in), and writing samples along with an application form.

In Fiction, two samples should be submitted, not exceeding 25 pages in total.
In Creative Nonfiction, two samples should be submitted, not exceeding a total of 25 pages.
In Poetry, 6 poems should be submitted, not exceeding 15 pages.

The entries will be judged anonymously, so please include your application form: with your name, title and genre of entry, and contact information. Make sure your name does not appear on any other pages of your submitted work.

Application forms will be available in the English office in Tucker Hall 112, and a department mailbox marked "Jenkins Scholarships"? will be designated for your entries.
