[PAST EVENT] Mock Lecture: Nuclear Weapons and International Conflict

April 14, 2021
6pm - 7pm
Location
Online

The Iran nuclear deal is in trouble, the Russians have an underwater nuclear drone, and North Korea is testing nuclear missiles. Before we all take cover, we should ask how these events affect the likelihood of international conflict. Do nuclear weapons make us safer? Do they make war more likely? Or do they have any effect at all? This lecture will examine social science research on the role of nuclear weapons in international security, with implications for North Korea, Iran, and US nuclear competition with Russia.
