This presentation will include a brief history on the economic and environmental importance of oysters in the Chesapeake Bay. The oyster industry from wild harvest to aquaculture will be closely examined, and the role that the Virginia Institute of Marine Science?s Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center (ABC) plays in the story will be explained.
