Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in Hinduism and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. It usually takes place in October or November and spans over five days of festivities. Diwali signifies the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on November 1st.
For Hindus, Diwali has various religious and cultural significance, depending on the region and beliefs. It is often associated with the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after defeating the demon king Ravana and with the goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity.
