The use of blended learning is increasing in higher education, but many instructors are unaware of the wide range of teaching/learning structures that it encompasses, their particular affordances and constraints, and how to select among them. Blended learning can be tailored to meet the needs of the students by considering the nature of the content being taught and the students' learning needs and preferences. It can combine real-time, time-shifted, face-to-face, at-a-distance, individual, small-group, and large-group learning configurations within courses and/or programs. We will begin to map, explore and compare these instructional possibilities.
Dr. Judi Harris, Professor and Pavey Family Chair in Education Technology, School of Education, will launch the series entitled "Blended learning: Many models, one goal." Participants in the series will learn about blended learning in a blended format.
