In 2017, Green Run High School, a public high school in Virginia Beach, VA received a High School Program Innovation grant from the Virginia Department of Education to "wreck" the traditional high school experience for a cohort of freshmen and construct a new model for learning focused on career and college pathways. The result of this work is the Innovation Lab: a unique high school experience for teachers and students built on social and emotional learning, learning expeditions, and multidisciplinary learning. For students in this program, attendance rates and grades are up and discipline is down. More importantly, a love for school, meaningful work and a true sense of belonging in the world are being established. The Green Run High School Innovation Lab's vision, journey, successes, and failures will be highlighted in this session through teacher and student voices.

Added voices: Kaleigh Cross, Kyla Kerns, George Wilson, Ariela Kingsley-Romero, & David Jackson, students at iLab, will also share during this session.

They will be outside of Dogwood before and after the session to take your questions. Identify them by their ?Ask Me? ribbons!
