Christine Marran Lecture, "Biotropes: Interpreting the Nonhuman World in Japanese Literature"

Christine Marran, University of Minnesota, discusses how reading for "biotropes" highlights the role of nonhuman entities in texts. She will discuss how particular approaches to storytelling highlight the material world to perform a critique of culture.
