William & Mary celebrated the Asian Centennial commemorating the admission of Chen Pu-Kao '23, our first student from Asia and the contribution of the preceding generations of students of Asian, Pacific Islander and Middle Eastern descent.

The Asian Centennial presents: Nationalism in Asia a talk by Professor Maya J. Tudor, Blavatnik School of Government Oxford University
Using incidents reported to Stop AAPI Hate, Professor Jeung discusses the nationwide trends in anti-Asian racism, their causes, and their historic roots. He then shares how the Asian American community is resisting this racism and what gains we have made.

Asian Centennial Distinguished Theater Arts Fellow and Class of 1939 Visiting Artist Rinabeth Apostol of San Francisco premieres an original solo cabaret exploring the Filipino diaspora in America through song and dance. Directed by Francis Tanglao Aguas.
Join us to celebrate the installation of the exhibit, "The Asian Centennial at William & Mary: Pu Kao Chen 1923" curated by Sumie Yotsukura '22 and assisted by Brian Zhao '23. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 from 4-5 p.m. in Swem.
Okinawa has played a disproportionate role hosting U.S. military facilities, leading to numerous difficulties. Mr. Satoshi Uechi, Director, Okinawa Prefecture Washington D.C. Office, will share Okinawans’ views on these matters and recent developments.
