Faculty Development
This calendar highlights various Faculty Development programs that take place across campus. Faculty Development events are opportunities for instructional faculty and co-educators to explore topics related to teaching, research, and faculty learning. This calendar is sponsored by The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation (STLI) in collaboration with multiple units and offices across William & Mary. For more information on specific events, please contact the individual event's owner. For more information on this calendar, please contact Pablo Yanez (pxyane@wm.edu).

Join your colleagues for the second installment of STLI's inclusive assessment series.
After the research is completed and written up, this is the time for seeking publication. Publication looks different for different disciplines, but there are aspects that are universal such as the general process and contract negotiation.
Join us for a book talk with national bestselling author Fiona Davis ’88. She will be discussing her latest book, The Magnolia Palace. The W&M Bookstore will have copies of her books for sale, and Fiona will be signing books following her talk.
Teaching through the COVID pandemic was an exhausting and sometimes thankless task, but while adapting to its challenges W&M educators developed new skills, innovated their teaching methods, and re-envisioned how we can reach students with diverse needs.
We'll review best practices for writing clear learning objectives, brainstorm learning activities that support the mastery of those objectives, talk about approaches to assessment, and make sure you have a strong plan for instructor presence.
The CGA speaker series continues with a talk from VIMS’s Kory Angstadt! Kory will discuss how drones have simplified the field collection of accurate elevations and measuring the extent of plant communities in tidal marshes.
