The W&M Global Film Festival, in partnership with W&M Libraries and the Reeder Media Center, is proud to host the 17th Annual 24 Speed competition!

This workshop will show you a peek behind the curtain at the art of sound design, providing a zoology of various sound effects, how to find them or make them yourself, and how it’s not always about what sounds real, it’s about what sounds right.

In this workshop, we will explore the little-known but essential role of Production Managers.

TV is a writer’s medium and in this workshop we’ll walk through the logistics of how scripted television gets made from a writer’s perspective – from pilot development through series production. We’ll also discuss the TV writing career ladder.

In this workshop we’ll discuss how to strategically leverage (almost) any resume into your first internship or entry-level role – no theatre major necessary.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on concepts and strategies for crafting effective interviews.

As streaming platforms continue to expand and demand for content is at an all-time high, we will delve into how to find your footing and anticipate change in the rapidly evolving digital media landscape of online content distribution.

“Searching for Anna May Wong,” traces the journey of actor Natasha Tina Liu, who raises the question, “If trailblazing Anna May Wong were still alive today, would she still face the same racism and challenges she experienced during her time in Hollywood?”

Students will learn about the art of camera movement as we film a scene using several different techniques.

Students will witness and participate in the creation of a fight scene (over Zoom).

This workshop will provide aspiring actors with everything they need to know in obtaining an on-screen talent agent/manager, particularly in the NY/LA market.

Documentary editors are writers! For my workshop, I’ll detail my process for writing a documentary, and show the development of a scene from first draft to final cut.
