[PAST EVENT] Network with Students at the Washington Center this Summer
As part of the D.C. Summer Session program, students spend one week in person at the Washington Center visiting sites around D.C. and learning from professionals who are pursuing careers related to their course. As part of this program, we provide students with the opportunity to network with folks that have professional experiences related to what students are studying in their course. This event allows students to practice their networking skills and these conversations will focus on your career start and path thus far, industry experience, and lessons you've learned along the way.
This networking session will be with students taking a course called Understanding Ideological Differences: Insights from Political Psychology which focuses on examining differences in political ideology using a psychological lens and diving into various psychological processes that help shape people's political ideology, including but not limited to personality and dispositions, emotion and affect, goals and motivation, attitudes and beliefs, and geography and culture. This course will also address how understanding such psychological processes can help us create strategies to bridge political gaps.
The networking reception is casual, low pressure way for you and students to connect. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks will also be provided!
