Join W&M alumni, parents, family and friends for a private tour of Yorktown Battlefield with Charles Bowery ’92, executive director, U.S. Army Center of Military History and president, Association of 1775. See where American independence was won on October 19, 1781 when British forces under Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the combined American and French armies led by General George Washington.


Meet at the Yorktown Visitor Center by 9:30 a.m. to board a charter bus for a drive to battlefield. Please wear comfortable walking shoes for this exclusive guided walking tour. 

Tickets: $10 includes the tour and transportation to and from the battlefields. Please note Sept. 28 is National Public Lands Day and the entrance fee is waived for all National Parks, including Yorktown Battlefield. We encourage you to stay after the tour to experience the museum exhibits at Yorktown Visitor Center.
