The Botetourt Chamber Singers ? known as the ?Bots? ? are a chamber choir from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Founded in 1974 as an select offshoot of the William and Mary Choir, it has since become a separate group, much sought-after by members of the Williamsburg community. The Bots sing a variety of choral music ranging from Renaissance madrigals to traditional spirituals and almost everything in between!
Under the direction of Dr. Jamie C. Bartlett, continue to perform in and around Williamsburg for such popular events as Grand Illumination and caroling in Colonial Williamsburg, as well as many W&M sponsored events. The group has also been invited several times to perform at St. James?s Episcopal Church in Richmond on their Evensong series. The Bots were honored to be selected to perform as the VA College Representatives at the Virginia State Music Educator?s Association Convention in Norfolk in 2005, 2007 and 2011, and will perform in 2016 at the Convention in Hot Springs, Virginia. The Bots also recently appeared in the spring of 2016 in the All-Virginia Honor Choir concert, once again as the College Representative.
