The Charles Center will host Professor Daniel Maliniak in the first installment of the Monroe Enrichment Series this spring. The series will be held each week throughout the semester.
Maliniak is an Assistant Professor of Government and Public Policy whose research focuses on international relations and the political economy. He studies spatial politics- the ways in which political and policy interests are affected by the location of political institutions. Gerrymandering, farming, and even humanitarian aid are topics that can be understood by examining spatial politics.
He also studies the geopolitics of the Republic of Georgia, a small former Soviet republic whose conflicts with Russia and desire to enter NATO could put world peace in jeopardy.
Come chat with Professor Maliniak and learn more about his research.
