[PAST EVENT] Nick Belluzzo, Anthropology - Dissertation Proposal Defense
Please join the Anthropology Department for Nick Belluzzo’s Dissertation Proposal Defense on Friday, March 29th at 1pm. This event is open to the public. Nick’s work focuses on a landscape-scale investigation of novel agronomic and settlement strategies in an environmentally marginal region of Hawai‘i Island prior to European contact. This work seeks to interrogate non-normative conceptions of community, power, and authority through geospatial and geostatistical analysis of the archaeological record of the traditional land division, or ahupua‘a, of Manuka in the district of Ka‘u, Hawai‘i Island.
