[PAST EVENT] Privacy & Technology Symposium

The symposium will consist of two panels (students may choose to
attend both, or just one, depending on their interests and schedules):
“Private” Privacy Rights panel: 3:30-4:45pm; a discussion of privacy
issues raised by the actions of private companies, such as business
data collection by Facebook, Google, and more
Featuring:
• Professor Rebecca Green (moderator)
• Visiting Professor Pablo Garcia-Mexia
• Justin Brookman from the Center for Democracy and Technology
• Vanderbilt Professor Steven Hetcher
“Public” Privacy Rights panel: 4:45-6:00pm; a discussion of privacy
concerns raised through government regulation, including SOPA, PIPA,
cell phone and GPS searches, surveillance and more
• Professor Trotter Hardy (moderator)
• Professor Adam Gershowitz
• Gene Fishel from the Virginia Assistant Attorney General’s office
• Khaliah Barnes from EPIC
The symposium will take place in room 127 at the law school and will
be followed by a reception in the lobby. We would love to see some
undergraduate students there!
