[PAST EVENT] Department Field Trip: Traipsing across Geology & History in the Piedmont

You are invited to join the Geology department for its Spring field trip which will happen this coming Sunday, Feb. 25th - it is day trip that will explore both geology and history in the Virginia Piedmont. Our trip leaders will be Annika and Nailah who’ll showcase their research sites. These trips are fun and educational and free! There is a sign-up sheet outside of Trina’s office (McStreet Hall 228).
DEPARTURE- 7:30 am from behind McGlothlin-Street Hall
FOOD- breakfast, lunch and pizza will be provided!
WHAT WILL WE DO- travel to the Piedmont to see research sites that Annika and Nailah
have studied, it will be interactive, and it will be fun!!
RETURN- by 7 pm to campus
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING:
sturdy walking shoes (we’ll hike ~ 2 miles over trails)
warm clothes, layer up as the forecast suggests temperatures in the low 50s
water bottle- stay hydrated
