Many of the colors in the world around us come from carbon-based molecules. We will explore the molecular origins of color and dyes as well as the colorful glow known as fluorescence. Starting with what makes red red and ending up at how a color change can be used as a sensor for toxic metals, we will journey through the world of color from a chemist?s perspective.
