Abstract:
The CKM matrix element Vub plays an important role in the search for cracks in the standard model accommodation of flavor changing interactions. Processes currently used to determine Vub (exclusive B ? ? l ?, inclusive B ? Xu l ?, and B ? ? ?) produce an inconsistent picture, with a ~3 sigma tension between the two, more precise, semileptonic decays. Alternative decays, including Bs ? K l ?, may help clarify the situation. I will present the first lattice QCD results for the form factors for this decay and discuss their phenomenological implications.
