[PAST EVENT] ROOM CHANGE! Faculty Workshop: "Effective Communication for Rational Minds"

Specifically:
When and how to give students opportunities to speak in front of their peers.
How to offer useful feedback about such presentations.
How to prepare students ahead of time with useful guidelines they can apply in their work.
You can expect a range of helpful advice, from simple and solid conceptual ideas to rational, no-nonsense, directly applicable tips for designing courses and assignments, running sessions that are rich in learning, providing feedback or grading presentations with a checklist, solving common issues, and more. The open workshop format will allow you to share best practices, test new ideas, and voice any concerns you may have.
To get the most out of this workshop, Doumont recommends attending his Feb. 17 lecture.
This workshop is free to faculty and has a cap of 25.

Jean-luc Doumont holds a Ph.D. in applied physics from Stanford University, is an engineer from the Louvain School of Engineering, and currently serves as Series Editor and Lead Author of English Communication for Scientists. An expert on scientific communication, he has 20 years of experience running lectures and workshops on writing scientific papers, giving oral presentations, graphing data, and related topics.
