[PAST EVENT] Peter Atwater and David Walker on Future Public and Private Financial Prospects for the United State

June 14, 2012
6pm - 8pm
Location
Choate Room, Washington, DC office
The Honorable David Walker served as United States Comptroller General from 1998 to 2008, and is Founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative. Mr. Walker is perhaps the leading proponent of the notion that federal expenditures, especially entitlements, will very soon, and very predictably as the baby boom ages, become unsustainably large.
Peter Atwater helped build (and then led) J.P. Morgan's asset-backed securities origination business, and is President of Financial Insyghts LLC. Mr. Atwater has been a clear voice for the claim that stocks remain overvalued, at least by traditional measures, and that market moods are key determinants of stock prices.
This event, sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy, is intended to bring together these two rather gloomy scenarios, and in particular to afford the participants a chance to examine how they might interact. There is no charge, but preregistration is required.
