AcademyHealth is "a leading national organization serving the fields of health services and policy research." The organization offers "programs and services that support the development and use of rigorous, relevant and timely evidence to increase the quality, accessibility, and value of health care, to reduce disparities, and to improve health."

The Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship is designed to encourage professional and educational development in health services research and policy among student members. The scholarship provides two free registrations to the National Health Policy Conference (NHPC) and four free registrations to AcademyHealth's Annual Research Meeting (ARM).

Students must be enrolled in a full-time masters or doctoral degree program. Among the criteria for judging applications is the commitment to the field of health services research or health policy and the potential to contribute to these two areas.

Applications should be submitted to AcademyHealth: http://www.academyhealth.org/Training/content.cfm?ItemNumber=16393
