Amie Thomasson, Professor and Parodi Senior Scholar in Aesthetics at University of Miami, will speak on "Truthmakers and the Project of Ontology.". Her areas of specialization are metaphysics, philosophy of mind, phenomenology, and philosophy of art. She is the author of Ordinary Objects (Oxford University Press, 2007), Fiction and Metaphysics (Cambridge University Press, 1999), and co-editor (with David W. Smith) of Phenomenology and Philosophy of Mind (Oxford University Press, 2005). In addition she has published numerous book chapters and articles on topics including metaontology, fiction, philosophy of mind and phenomenology, and the metaphysics of artifacts, works of art and other social objects. questions, and the methods of metaphysics.
