Please join us for a public lecture to open William & Marys sixth annual Symposium on Pilgrimage Studies on Friday, October 6, 7 to 8 pm in Andrews Hall 101. Thousands of medieval pilgrims traveled to Jerusalem and Rome, part of a highly organized industry. Prof. Anthony Bale, Univ. of London, will speak on the books pilgrims read and wrote and what they can tell us about premodern trans-national cultures. After the lecture, please join us for a reception sponsored by La Tienda in the ISC Atrium.
