Road to Women's Weekend: Finding Equanimity and Wisdom in Times of Change
Access & Features
- Registration/RSVP

How we respond to uncertainty and discomfort determines the quality of our lives. During times of extraordinary change, our nervous systems are more easily triggered into fear responses that sap our energy, erode relationships and destroy productive time. We find ourselves at our wit’s end, feeling powerless and hopeless.
In those inevitable moments when the current social, political and natural environments threaten to overwhelm us, how do we catch ourselves before doomsday thinking sends us spiraling downward? How do we end spirals of negative thoughts and unhelpful narratives without bypassing our honest emotional responses, which contain valuable data for decision-making? How do we focus our attention on finding or creating opportunities to contribute in meaningful ways, whether they are meant to make the world a better place or simply to support personal wellbeing? How do we mine the chaos for some wisdom?
Join us for brunch and a conversation with emotional intelligence coach Amy Steindler ’80. We’ll discuss ways to meet the present moment from the inside out. Rather than reacting to the daily onslaught of news, we’ll discuss how to frame your own responses, how to muster the energy and resilience you need to weather this period in the arc of history and how to contribute to positive changes at this crucial moment that align with your personal energy capacity.
If you’re feeling unsure about what’s next, this event will provide space to process your emotions and talk about the future in a welcoming and passionate community.
This event is open to all. We encourage you to invite your friends and family.
