Online Programs Faculty Workshop | Scaffolding for Success: Supporting Adult Learners in Asynchronous Online Courses

The Center for Online Learning, in collaboration with Academic Innovation and Everspring's Learning Design Team, is hosting a workshop on Scaffolding for Success: Supporting Adult Learners in Asynchronous Online Courses on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Eastern. 

This 90-minute hybrid workshop will provide practical strategies for designing and implementing scaffolding in online graduate courses to support student learning and independence. Attendees will learn about structured and adaptive scaffolding techniques and hear from experienced faculty who have successfully applied these strategies, offering real-world insights and best practices. Faculty are encouraged to bring a laptop or personal device to participate in polling activities.

Faculty teaching in online programs delivered in partnership with Everspring:

Faculty Guest Speakers:

Amy Alyson Teller, MBA    
Amy is a Section Lead of BUAD 5407: Marketing in the Online MBA program and BUAD 5287: Digital Content Management in the Online MSM program. She is also the Course Author and Course Facilitator of the OMSM Program Prep Course.

Scott Gibson, Ph.D.
Scott is the Course Author and Faculty Lead of BUAD 5307: Finance in the Online MBA program and BUAD 5127: Principles of Finance in the Online MSF program. Scott is also the Faculty Program Director for the Online MSF program and the Mason School's K. Dane Brooksher Professor of Finance.
