Born in Cuba in 1921, Emilio Sánchez eventually moved to the United States and became an artist renowned for his architectural paintings and abstracted lithographs. In 2021, the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Muscarelle Museum of Art acquired 65 works by Sánchez. Please join Museum Director David Brashear for a special, behind-the-scenes look at our new Sánchez portfolio.

Attendees will also hear an update on our latest plans for the museum's renovation and expansion, and have an opportunity to view Faculty Show 15, which features recent work by W&M studio art faculty. Space is limited to 30.

The Muscarelle Museum of Art will be open daily 12-5 PM through Homecoming weekend.
